KARACHI: Special Assistant to Chief Minister Sindh Dr Khatu Mal Jeewan has said that to ensure more focused approach towards issues relating to minority communities in Sindh and to protect and safeguard the rights of minorities, present government under the guidance of Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad has initiated a project “Installation of security surveillance cameras at worship places”.
The cost of the project will be Rs 400 million. Dr Khatu has said that this project would greatly enhance the level of security at places of worship and improve security environment thereby generating economic activity and attracting foreign investments.
He further informed that this project is in line with E-Governance initiative and IT Road Map 2015-2010 of IST Department which envisages use of technology to improve public services and reduce the services delivery costs.
He said that the project involves establishment of a modern hi-tech surveillance and monitoring system at each place of worship using multiple video cameras installed at strategic locations around the place of worship.
He further elaborated that all video cameras will be cable connected to a central room located in a back office on the premises away from monitored areas. It will also contain video monitoring and recording equipment.
